Anna-Marie van Rooyen Attorney · Notary · Conveyancer
About

A boutique practice, built around one attorney.

Anna-Marie van Rooyen founded this practice on a simple idea: that clients do better when they deal with one person who knows their matter properly — not a rotating cast of case handlers.

Meet Anna-Marie

Anna-Marie van Rooyen is an admitted attorney, notary and conveyancer with over 25 years in legal practice. She was admitted as an attorney in 2000, as a conveyancer in 2005, and as a notary in 2006, and spent close to two decades practising for her own account in Lichtenburg before moving in-house.

Most recently, Anna-Marie spent six years with a large, listed agricultural group, where she served as Group Company Secretary and Head Legal Counsel and a member of senior management — heading the group's legal, compliance and company secretarial functions before retiring from that role in October 2025. That experience, spanning commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, sits alongside her original grounding in conveyancing, notarial practice and general commercial law.

She founded this practice to bring that same rigour back to individual clients and smaller businesses — deliberately staying small so that each client gets Anna-Marie's direct, personal attention rather than being routed through layers of staff. When you call, you speak to Anna-Marie. When your documents are drafted, she drafts them. When your transfer needs chasing, she chases it.

Outside the practice, Anna-Marie is also involved with Pando Governance, which offers corporate governance advisory, company secretarial services, and legal and governance training to boards and management teams — a separate initiative, distinct from the legal practice, reflecting the same underlying belief that clear, practical guidance changes outcomes.

How Anna-Marie works

Plain-spoken

No legalese where it isn't required. If a term must be used, it's explained in the same breath.

Warm, not casual

Friendly and human — but every sentence still holds up in a signed letter.

Confident

Clear positions, stated plainly — not hedged where the answer is simply correct.

Client-first

What it means for your outcome comes first; the legal mechanics follow.
