We only collect personal information you choose to give us through this website:
We use your personal information to:
We process your information on the basis of your consent (contact form and newsletter), and, where you become a client, on the basis of the legal services agreement between us and our legal obligations as an attorney.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with third parties where necessary to carry out your instructions (for example, the Deeds Office, a bank, or another party's attorney in a transaction), where required by law or regulation, or where you have separately consented.
We keep contact form enquiries only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with them. Where a client mandate is established, records are retained for the periods required by our professional and legal obligations as an attorney. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse.
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
You choose to join our newsletter by submitting your email address on our Contact page. You may withdraw that consent and unsubscribe at any time — by following the unsubscribe instruction included in every newsletter email, or by emailing info@vanrooyenlaw.co.za with "unsubscribe" — and you will be removed from the list within a few business days. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this notice from time to time; the current version will always be published on this page.
